This Dutch-made Berth Lamp is an extremely versatile oil lamp because it is equipped with a gimbal that allows it to be mounted as a sconce on a bulkhead or wall, and then removed to be set on a horizontal surface. This beautiful solid brass lamp has a polished and lacquered finish to ensure a long lasting shine.
The manufacturer of this berth lamp, Den Haan Rotterdam, was founded in Rotterdam, Holland, in 1922. It began as a manufacturer of navigation and interior lighting for inland and seagoing vessels. All lamps, many of them replicas of old models, are handmade to commercial ship standards.
